Dermatologists diagnose and treat conditions that affect the hair, skin, and nails. This may include treating rashes or acne, diagnosing melanoma (skin cancer), and much more. In addition to this, dermatoligists also perform many aesthetic procedures that are paid for out of pocket rather than by insurance.
